Marketing Manager - Ref. MEG/NI/01
Territory: pan-African role based in London (UK) or Lagos (Nigeria)

Marketing Executive will ensure that the key deliverables in the marketing plan are achieved on time and on budget, whilst developing new initiatives to support the brand and assist the sales teams to achieve their business objectives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivery of the marketing plan predominantly in Nigeria, but also extending across 16 other African countries. As the first point of contact for marketing you'll coordinate marketing activities in our African regional offices.

Core marketing areas include:

  • Online promotions and e-marketing, web design, PPCand SEO
  • Advertising in Nigerian and pan-African Media
  • Event Management and Promotions
  • Product Marketing and Sales Support
  • Sector specific marketing targeting key African industries
  • Database management and optimisation
  • Corporate Social Responsibility Programmes

The responsibilities of this role will include planning and implementing marketing campaigns via a number of media platforms, including direct marketing activity, events and email promotions. This involves working closely with the media and specific trade titles to maximise coverage. 

The successful candidate will be expected to deliver joint marketing campaigns with multinational corporations, developing partnerships and joint promotions. Driving traffic to the website to generate sales leads by using innovative design ideas and Search Engine Optimisation also required.

Internal customers include regional Managing Directors, Sales Managers and the executive committee.

External agencies to manage, include marketing agencies, public relations in UK and Africa, promotions companies, international industry publications / trade journals and print and collateral suppliers.

This is a wide ranging and high profile role so you will therefore have a proven track record in business marketing, external communications or / and website design and management. You will be fully IT literate, with knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products as well as web design, and you will have highly developed interpersonal skills with the proven ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships at all levels. 

The ideal candidate will be experienced in B2B direct marketing, have a strong commercial grounding and possess excellent organisational skills.  French an advantage but not pre requisite.

In terms of qualifications candidates are likely to be degree qualified.  A marketing qualification (e.g. CIM) would be an advantage as would be Telecoms or technology sector experience.

Ability to travel in Africa occasionally is desired.

Customer Support / NOC Engineer - Ref. CSEG/BE/01
Territory: Gosselies, Belgium

Based at the Customer Support department in Gosselies you ensure superior customer satisfaction for our over 130 telecommunication providers.

 

The successful candidate will require very strong customer service skills with a focus on effective and timely communication using telephone, e-mail or other means. Your challenge will be to maintain for all internal and external customers the highest possible degree of confidence with respect to the status of their service related issues.

The successful candidate will carry out - based on strict best in class SLAs (Service Level Agreements) - all monitoring and first level fault management for the Gateway Communications network systems while on a Duty Rota in a 24/7 customer support and technical role. The responsibility covers the entire infrastructure: telecommunications equipment such as switching (TDM and Next Generation Network/VOIP “Veraz”) and compression systems, modems, satellite and other transmission equipment, quality and monitoring systems (for Business Support Systems – Operations Support Systems) The infrastructure includes various IT and VAS systems as well as power supply systems and air-conditioning.

Ideally you will hold a degree in Telecommunications, Switching/ Radio Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent or have at least two years in operating telecommunications systems on a day-to-day basis, preferably involving satellite transmission and Next Generation Network equipment. Practical working experience in the OMC/NOC as an engineer/technician is a plus. Fluency in both English and French is required.

Solutions Architect - Ref. SAG/SA/01
Territory: South Africa
 

The successful candidate will provide a solution focused consultancy service to corporate clients, in support of sales, which will entail the analysis of complex customer requirements leading to the provision of cutting edge design solutions. The job holder will provide high levels of assistance and support during the pre, mid and post phases of solution implementations. Key to this role is the ability to build and maintain productive relationships with clients, internal groups within the company as well as suppliers and partners.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate they have the expertise to identify opportunities within client environments and have a track record in providing technical solutions as well as contributing ideas to into new product development.

If successful you will be expected to respond to business and wholesale customer queries as per request for information (RFI) and request for proposal (RFP) documents as well as conduct research on and keep abreast of ICT trends.
