GATEWAY COMMUNICATIONS SWITCHES RECORD NUMBER OF VOICE MINUTES

2008 is a year full of opportunity and excitement for Gateway Communications - and setting new voice minute switching records are a result of our growth. We all know how fast our organisation is growing and how swiftly we are achieving each goal we set, but sometimes it is difficult to comprehend what this actually means. Well, a tangible illustration of this is the record daily traffic volume of African voice minutes we switched in the last quarter of 2007 - the equivalent of carrying 20% of the continent's international telephone traffic!

While this record figure may surprise some, Gateway, as the force behind a number of the largest GSM and fixed-line telephone operators on the continent, including supplying companies such as Celtel, Orange, Cable & Wireless and MTN with international connectivity and cellular backhaul services, has the ability to switch this traffic volume and more. In fact, our technology connects more voice traffic from Africa to Europe and the United States than any other service provider.

We have aggressively expanded into the local African markets and are now servicing not just the telephone companies, but also thousands of multinationals in the energy, financial services and manufacturing sectors. Our success underpins the success of many of Africa's best performing businesses including Shell, Citigroup, Coca-Cola, Exxon Mobil, DHL and the African Banking Corporation.

It's Gateway's connectivity solutions that are enabling these companies to communicate securely with each other and with their customers. And, it's Gateway's proven ability to deliver first world connectivity and services to businesses and individuals that keeps our clients coming back and our business expansion on track.
